I'm Sorry
This part is harder to write than the rest. Not every page can be about the good moments — some have to be about the times things fall short.
So here it is, plainly: I'm sorry. These are the words worth saying out loud.
Where I Fell Short
There were days you needed more than I could give,a calmer patience, a gentler way to live.I answered slow, I noticed things too late, and let small silences grow heavy with their weight.
I told myself you'd wait, that time was long, that care would fill the space between each line. But love is showing up, not only words, and I'm sorry for each moment you felt fine.
Still Learning
Some nights I count the ways I've come up short, the moments I was distant, out of reach. You deserve someone steady, sure, and whole, and I'm still learning half of what you teach.
I'm not the finished version of the man, still rough around the edges, still unsure. But every flaw I carry, I can name, and naming is the first step toward the cure.
What I Can Promise
I can't promise I won't stumble or won't fall,or have the perfect answer at your call. But I can promise honesty and care, and owning it whenever I'm not there.
I'll listen when you're quiet, ask, not guess, show up on ordinary days, not just the best.So here's my heart, a little bruised but true:I'm sorry. And I'm trying. And I choose you.
If you've read this far, thank you for giving these words the chance to land.
